Information & Real Estate Data
Originally a part of Marlborough, Northborough
grew as did Marlborough as an agricultural and industrial community. Manufacturing of
iron and wooden products, military and rifle production was carried
out in the town until the 19th century. As early industry
diminished, Northborough emerged as a residential and agricultural
community. The significant annual town event is the celebration of
the harvest called: Applefest. Today the town is a popular suburb of both Worcester and
Marlborough that has enjoyed stable and consistent residential
growth. Real estate in the community is comprised of established
neighborhoods, new developments as well as colonial period farm
houses. There is easy access to routes 290 and 495, and commuter
rail is available in nearby Southboro and Westboro.
